  Real shame. Been coming to west bay for over 20 years and this place has really gone down hill. The food is average at best unfortunately the staff are very unaccomodating refusing entry to an empty pub that's apparently "full". I have eaten everywhere in a large radius and do not recommend this place.

  Great pub. Great pies. 4 of us went in for food and beer but the restaurant was full. Thankfully they were happy to serve us food in the bar. We were warned the pies had to be made from scratch and may take a while to come out the kitchen, but they were well worth the wait. Good sized potions. I recommend the steak and kidney pie with a pint of Tally ho!

  I think that currently The George is in turmoil with the prospective change of management. The food is still very good but the service is slightly less efficient and the staff not as smartly dressed.

  Nice pub inside with good choice of beers and reasonable menu at reasonable prices. The outside 'patio' across the road was a complete mess the day we visited; litter everywhere even in the little hedge, tables covered in plates that were attracting seagull raids (leading to smashed glasses on the floor). Would be so much better if they spent 10 minutes to tidy up the litter and then kept on top of the table clearing. But to say again the inside was so much better so just avoid the patio bit I guess!
